The little things from October

Just a little bit of this and a little bit of that happened in October.  We spent a lot of our days at various parks, since the weather was mainly perfect.

The girls did some hugging, and Isaac had his eye on someone carrying around a ball (he is obsessed with playing with balls.  Basketball, soccer, baseball - he does not discriminate... although I think his favorite is soccer.  He also loves watching the sport with his dad.)

Here are Ella and Mariah (Ella's friend that I watch in the afternoons) acting like "mean girls."  When they said they wanted to pretend to be mean girls, I didn't really like the idea... but then when they started to actually pretend, they would say things (in a really mean voice) like, "Here is a hotdog!"  or "Here are some rainbows!!!"  haha.  It gives me comfort knowing that they don't actually know how to be mean girls.

In October we also had the opportunity to watch some of our church leaders speak on tv during what we call, General Conference.  It is a bi-annual broadcast shown worldwide where we hear from the president of our church, and various church leaders.  It can be a really spiritual and uplifting couple of days for us adults, but it is at times a bit harder for the kids to sit through.

We had a few reward systems going on to keep Ella entertained.  One of them is seen below.  We filled some cups with treats, and every time Ella heard a speaker say one of the key words she would get to have a treat from that particular cup.  It helped... a little.

My brother, Cordell, and Isaac during conference.

Also, in October Isaac ate a ridiculous amount of yogurt.  He loves eating yogurt, and especially loves eating it all by himself.  I think it makes him feel like an extra big kid.  Interesting fact about Isaac and eating:  He eats breakfast and lunch at the kid picnic table in the kitchen, and dinner in the dining room with the rest of us, but he prefers to eat every snack outside in the back yard.

We also did a lot of raking leaves, making big piles of leaves, jumping in leaves, and raking them again.
