Oct 26: We had our neighborhood fall festival. It was the first neighborhood party that we have been able to attend, and we all had a blast! The kids started off with a costume parade down the main road leading to the clubhouse. After that they were let free to run off and do whatever game/eat whatever treat they wanted. There was a cake walk, a bouncy house, lots of little games, and cotton candy. It was a fun Saturday spent with our neighbors!
Here is Isaac the knight deciding on which cupcake to pick after he won the Cake Walk.
And here is Ella the gypsy eying Isaac, and hoping that her number is called next. It was called a few turns later.

Oct 30th: We attended our church's fall festival. Here are the kids walking on the stage to show off their costumes. After this, they played some games, collected some candy, then went trunk or treating in the parking lot of the church for a ton more candy. They had a great time collecting candy and playing with friends.
Oct 31st: And finally Halloween night! The kids were so excited to go trick or treating in our neighborhood, and for good reason. They ended up with a TON of candy... and a lot of Oooohs and Ahhhhs over how adorable they were in their costumes. I have to agree.
Ella was very excited to by a gypsy. She had decided on the costume well before Halloween because she was stuck on being whatever would allow her to dress fancy and wear a lot of jewelry and make-up. My mom made that adorable skirt for her - and the best part is that it had little coins on it and jingled when she walked. Isaac is all about knights these days. It is his favorite thing to play and pretend... he wears this costume (that he got for Christmas last year) most afternoons when we pick up Ella from her bus stop. The coolest part about this Halloween was that the only costume that I bought was Eve's! We had the things for the other costumes (or borrowed) already!
Ella and Isaac with some of their best buddies (and next door neighbors). We stayed with them the whole time while trick or treating, and the kids had the time of their lives!
"trick or treat!", and here is Eve watching the big kids have all of the fun. I let Eve have the night off with her costume since we had already forced her to wear it 2 other times. Comfort was key that night.
And the kids made out seriously well! They got so much candy... and most of it was the really good stuff! Not good (but, oh, so good) for us adults. We counted around 65 trick or treaters at our door that night.

I love Eve's costume. She looked adorable. What a perfect Halloween. Do you know Nate and Briana Weir. I think they're in your ward. They are moving her to work for UPS like Mark. We can't wait to meet them.
