From Snow to Short Sleeves

On Monday, March 5th, we enjoyed the perfect snow day!  It was perfect because it fell hard and strong for the entire morning, giving us 3-4 inches, hours of fun with perfectly packable snow, and then by the late afternoon it had begun to melt.  We played in the backyard, made a snow princess, came in for hot cocoa, went back out to play/sled with neighbors, built another snowman, and made snow forts.  It was a blast, and it was almost completely melted by the next day.  Seriously perfect in my opinion.

This is how Isaac enjoyed the first part of his snow day... feeling crumby, and watching cartoons.

And this is how Ella and her dear friend, Mariah, enjoyed that morning.

Time for a little break, and some homemade hot cocoa.  This got Isaac pumped for some snow time with the neighbors...

Then just THREE days later, on March 8th, Isaac had a play date with his buddy, Jude, on a beautiful and sunny 72 degree day!  They played, shared snacks, made their toys go on rides down the slide, and walked around like they were big kids who owned the place.

Isaac had a diaper change, bid his friend farewell, and collapsed from exhaustion with his blanket by the front door before I could even shut it.

One day snow days, followed up by perfectly sunny short-sleeve wearing days, are always welcome here.
